Seminar about the early poetry by J. Barbarus and J. Semper, 4 November 2022

On 4 November 2022, Aare Pilv will hold a seminar about the early poetry by J. Barbarus and J. Semper. Both poets were initially aestheticists and symbolists, but they gradually shifted towards exploring more social themes and avant-garde poetics. Their early poetry can be analysed on the basis of different keywords: spleen and euphoria, single person and masses, idyllic nature and city atmosphere, aestheticism and social sensibility, erotic motifs and representation of women.
