The research project of the Under and Tuglas Literature Centre of the Estonian Academy of Sciences studies decadence as states of transition. The international team of scholars scrutinises decadent literature, art, philosophy, and music at the beginning of the 20th century in Europe’s peripheral small cultures such as the Baltics and the Nordic countries in comparison to Western European decadent culture.
