In 26–27.09.2024, Aare Pilv attended the international symposium Literatures of small countries and challenges of the modern global world in Kutaisi, which was organised by the Association of Comparative Literature of Georgia together with the Tbilisi State University and Kutaisi University and the Institute of Georgian Literature. Aare’s presentation touched upon the perception of smallness and vulnerability in Estonian literary and cultural history from Kreutzwald and Hurt to Krull and Undusk, trying to give another perspective in addition to other Eastern European cultures (Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Latvia, etc.) discussed at the symposium.
