Our project member Tiina Abel spoke about the artists of the coterie Siuru (1917–1919) at the conference Sing, sing, birdie… Siuru in our cultural history

On 13 March 2025, the conference Sing, sing, birdie… Siuru in our cultural historytook place in the Estonian Literary Museum.

The conference analysed the meanings of the Siuru bird in Estonian cultural history. Topics included Siurus connections to folklore and (national) mythology, its role in literature, art, and music, as well as possible links to linguistics, ornithology, and psychology. Tiina Abel gave a presentation Those standing nearby: the artists of the Siuru circle.
