Tiina Abel’s research interests include 19th century Baltic German art and Estonian decadence and modernism at the beginning of the 20th century. With approximately 40 years of work experience in the Art Museum of Estonia, Tiina Abel has curated more than 60 exhibitions in Estonia, Finland, Belgium, and Poland, including the first permanent exhibition in Kumu. She is one of the co-editors of the multi-volume History of Estonian Art (volumes 4 and 5). Tiina Abel graduated from the University of Tartu and obtained master’s degree in religion studies at Institute of Theology of the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church. She is an art historian and a curator who lectures in Estonian Academy of Arts.
